  • How crypto fared in 2023

    How crypto fared in 2023

    2023 report.png

2023 is one of those events you cannot describe with one word. It’s been a hell of a year! If anyone in the government gets to read this; consider extending the holidays. Unfortunately, in the capitalist world we live in, this isn’t even up to the government anymore. One of the year’s biggest events in crypto is Bitcoin’s climb to $44,000 from levels below $17,000. An over %150 rise in a year is a significant one. Ethereum hit $2,300 as well…at least we are leaving this year better than we met it. Yes ‘WE’.

    Well, while you decipher that, here are some of the notable events of the year;

    Rug Pull, court, jail

    caroline coutroom painting.jpg

Forbes’ ’30 Under 30’ is the new prerequisite for jail time, at least that’s the new conspiracy theory. It’s not really a ‘theory’ when we’ve seen it play out quite a couple of times this year and even the years before. In the crypto space, there’s been lots of court time and jail time. Luna guys, FTX guys, and maybe Binance too. Different levels of Rug pull. We will keep calling out the memecoin rugpulls, but the CEX rugpulls are a thing. The space needs regulation, no doubt, even though the regulators aren’t the best kind of people. Several interventions have seen notable figures in the space go through court sessions and potentially, jail time. Financial crimes aren’t a joke, but we can’t keep ourselves from finding something funny out of any situation…like the courtroom painting of Mrs. Caroline.

    Institutional insurgence on crypto

    bitcoin EFT.jpg

Multi-billion dollar mainstream financial institutions are steering into the crypto space in many ways. The mainstream VC invasion has been a thing for a while, but some big money institutions are launching spot ETFs for cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and LiteCoin. According to rumors, there is one for XRP…and PEPE. Not sure about these two but if the rumors are true, then the theory about mainstream institutions “coming for your Bitcoins” might be true as well. The BlackRock spot ETF for Bitcoin is yet to launch, but ‘rumors’ have it that we are close. Didn’t happen this year, maybe next year. Regardless, of the intent, we are seeing an increased mainstream exposure. This could be good for the price, we are not sure what it means for ‘Satoshi’s Vision”, but the random altcoin trader will take a solid 10X over that.

    L2, Meme, Cashout, repeat

    crypto pepe.jpg

Over 11,000 cryptocurrencies are listed on asset-tracking platforms. Untracked assets are at least twice this figure, mostly memecoins. ‘Blue chip memecoins’, RugPull memecoins, and proper memecoins that accept their fate as being reliant on pumpamentals…and luck. But if you made that quick 10X on assets like this, then you can proudly enjoy your win. Like the past two years, 2023 witnessed a flood of memecoins, just like the tons of Layer-2 scaling solutions that launched this year. For each new L2, there are at least 50 memecoins, we’ve lost count of the memecoins on Ethereum and other L1s. Many L2’s usage statistics ride on the back of memecoins, and this is fine. We just want you to know that Memecoins didn’t die in 2023, we’ll check again in 2024.

Bitcoin – The new ‘Ethereum Killer’

    Blog_Post_BRC-20.png

BRC-20, BitVM…the Bitcoin blockchain now runs its own kind of smart contract. On the bright side, you can inscribe data on the Bitcoin network, on the other side, the Bitcoin blockchain was developed for the sole purpose of P2P transactions. The experiments are cool, but the after-effects are also significant. But this is not the time to say these; this paragraph only serves to inform readers that Bitcoin could be gearing up for a (very) new set of utilities. BRC-20 tokens and NFT-like inscriptions made the wave in the second and third quarters of 2023. The hype has died down since this time. The team behind BitVm is developing a Virtual Machine for the Bitcoin blockchain, these developments could shape 2024.

    The Airdrop hunting continues

    crypto airdrop hunting.jpg

Every new protocol that launched in 2023 reached the one million user milestone in a very short time. We’d like to attribute this to the quality of these projects. But once we are done with that, we’d also like to talk about an obvious major contributor – Airdrop hunting! Lots of juicy airdrops from 2020-2022 and no one wishes to be left behind in the next multi-thousand dollar earndrop. So, the hunting continues. Good enough, even more projects have conducted such programs this year; Arbitrum, Celestia, PYTH network, no need for a long list. The average airdrop hunter should have something to show for the ‘hustles’ this year!

Not to jinx it, but 2023 looks like a perfect tone-setter for a massive 2024. The coming year is packed already and this year has done a good job at shining the lights to even better things…hopefully. If we don’t witness another Luna-level collapse, 2024 might just be the year. 2023 was a huge role-player here. The whole space has gone through a huge rebuild and regardless of how it went on individual terms, it is another one for the record books. And if you ever thought memecoins would fade out one day, this year is a good reminder that things like this are part of what makes this space what it is. The lights fade; the show continues in 2024!

  • The 2023 scripts – CryptocurrencyScripts Annual Report

The 2023 scripts – CryptocurrencyScripts Annual Report

    2023 cryptocurrencyscripts annual report.png

CryptocurrencyScripts serve one purpose – to give investors something to read; when they wish to. We admit that the current setup isn’t perfect for this goal, but this is a work in progress. For the ‘work’ in progress, we have spent another year working on everything we want CryptocurrencyScripts to stand for; humor, simplicity, and versatility. In general, 2023 has been another step in the right direction.

Wrapping up an impressive year, we present our annual report, as usual. We understand that our readers could have missed some significant developments, or better said, some developments we feel are ‘significant’. Now, we aren’t good with hype words, so the following updates are as plain as they can be!

    Here’s how we ran through the year;

    In 2023 we;

Built a community for Writers…and readers

The regular cryptocurrency investor is more interested in partnership, airdrop, and technical exploitation announcements. How-to guides come immediately after these. Lesser attention is paid to regular articles, which form the bulk of our publication, but we are glad to operate in this area, and we are assembling other writers who hold this belief too. As part of our effort to pool writers into a single community, we created the CryptocurrencyScripts medium publication. Don’t ask how we could afford the $50 annual medium membership for this feature! Just visit the Cryptocurrency Scripts Medium publication. Join a community of writers.

FYI over 700 investors read our publication every month! Rookie numbers? Nope? Thanks!

    Didn’t stop writing

    dont-stop-just-6cli1g.jpg

We are writers at heart, for the passion and the Pa$$ion. The former supersedes and this is why we keep working on the next paragraph. For cryptocurrencyScripts, external projects, and for individual media projects, we didn’t stop writing, and we are planning to change this anytime soon, even when the readers stop reading. CryptocurrencyScripts is built with words, for words.

    Traded memecoins

    to-the-moon.jpg

Before you read the next words, CryptocurrencyScripts is not a fan of Memecoins. But we’d like some quick profits and memecoins are some of the quickest movers, and we mean this in both directions. So, we dabbled into a few of them; the dog-themed ones. We can’t say the same for the writers in our community, but if you are still wondering how we got $50 to pay for a Medium membership, your answer might be staring at you.

    Watched the Charts

    DBmhvtFXYAE205E.jpg-large.jpeg

If you trade memecoins, or any digital asset, then you surely watch the charts. That’s what brings us all together. We weren’t left out, GeckoTerminal to watch memecoin charts and Coingecko to watch every other chart. DexScreener is cool too. You certainly have your picks, TradingView probably. Whichever one, the number of times you open these in a day is what sets you above others. We should be somewhere at the top of the list.

    Started the Snack Talk series.

    snack talk 2.jpg

Everyone loves to shit-talk while they chew on a sugary snack. Same here! We started a series where we pick up snacks and talk about the crypto space while we eat them. Not a serious thing to do? Of course, you are right, but it’s certainly a fun thing to do, which is why we do it once in a while. The crypto space is only fun during the Bull Run, so the series is a bit slow. If the bull season eventually returns we can drop these things faster.

What’s your favorite snack? Check out our snack talk collection.

Closing up; We are gradually drawing the curtains on another rewarding year and are even more inspired to do better next year! If there is anything we are most proud of, it is the fact that you are reading these words and probably enjoying them. We are growing as fast as we can, organically, and we want our readers and followers to be made up of people who are interested in reading more from us. Remember to hit the follow button if this is you.

  • Snack Talk – The Cheesecake

    Snack Talk – The Cheesecake

    snack talk 2.jpg

We are all in support of a well-regulated crypto space, but the regulators should at least get the pronunciation right for the firm they are prosecuting. Well, maybe we’ve all been pronouncing it the wrong way. The memecoin peddlers are already having a field day with that one and that’s fine, a few 10x on those BENANCE coins wouldn’t hurt…before they pull the rug.

4.3 billion cheese in the pocket, you can see the idea behind the title now. The SEC could run solely on the money made from crypto firms in the past three years. Can’t lie, the whole space needs to be tightened up, it is currently loose. But I suggest that Mr. Logan should at least give back some of the money he made from that sports drink stuff to the guys he ran away with their cheese for some NFTs that never came to life.

A silver lining; Bitcoin rose past the $30k area and Ethereum breached the $2,000 level. Even though I don’t have much of those, some altcoins have seen a few gains too. Wondering how I could afford another snack? You have your answer now. I had the opinion that bull runs were fueled by greed and hype, this one could be fueled by conspiracy theories. The Bitcoin ETFs are taking quite some time to go live, the real problem is… every cryptocurrency appears to be getting a Blackrock ETF too. Solana, XRP, PEPE. If you believe the XRP part, you should believe the part PEPE too.

Memcoins should find a way to include an ETF in their ‘utility’ list, but if “they got rid of CZ to pave the way for an industry-controlled Bitcoin” then these ETFs should pack more punch than we expect. Since we are all here for the money, this should be good news, right? No? Have fun explaining the ‘satoshi vision’ to the regular investor who just wants his altcoin to go 5X.

If you want proof that a good percentage of ‘cutting-edge decentralized AI projects’ is just an extension of ChatGPT, the price movements of these projects in response to the hide-and-seek at OpenAI is your best proof. Sack, re-employ; turns out these jobs are more secure than we thought. For whatever reason these guys sacked Altman; the employee movement sufficed…they probably had a hard time understanding Sam’s codes though.

The AI team at X launched a more vicious ChatGPT – GROK. There are more chances that you saw that name first in the Memecoin market. But yeah, crypto always moves first. If there is anything I’m convinced about in the coming bull run, it is that AI coins are going to run to show.

Gensler believes in the possibility of rebooting FTX Exchange. Associated tokens have since gone haywire, and if FTX gets rebooted, the next on the list should be Luna. USTC might already be trading around $0.1 by the time you get to read this article. Still, a long way to go for a dollar-pegged coin, but in this space, ‘never say never’. FTX, Luna, Voyager, Celsius…the list is long, but, one after the other.

I’m revealing the snack of the day for the first time; since everyone is getting cheese, it’s just reasonable to get a cheesecake, and Sprite. Unlike the guy behind the KyberSwap exploit, a handful of snacks could get us ‘fully rested’ in a short while. The Poloniex hacker and the SIM swap guys made the list of ‘cheese getters’ too. Guess the whole space is just about people getting cheese.

Bankman Fried and other FTX guys will learn their fate soon, I will have to drop the pen here and return whenever we have definite news. But if Bitcoin crosses $40,000, then we might be back sooner than expected. Gone past the 600-word point too. Just in case you read up to this point; see you next time…guys! And hit the FOLLOW button!

  • How DexCheck improves investment success

    How DexCheck improves investment success

    DexCheck is your crypto investment assistant. Just like investors in any other sector, cryptocurrency investors are in constant search of applications that help them make more informed decisions and also lessen their investment research and routine trading workload. Investors have found applications in DexCheck’s ecosystem really useful. DexCheck’s principal goal is to improve an investor’s chances of making a profitable trade. These applications are structured to suit investors of different abilities. If you are searching for a one-stop investment assistant, DexCheck might just be it for you. Let’s take a look at how DexCheck is empowering investors using diverse applications;

    Automated portfolio manager: Smartfolio

The smartfolio is a Telegram-based portfolio manager. Smartfolio keeps a watch on your investment for you while you focus on other aspects of your investments. By developing a portfolio manager that works on the Telegram application, DexCheck selects an application that investors use routinely. Telegram is one of the most widely used mediums of conversation and smartfolio fits in just well. Investors can receive push notifications about changes in the price of the asset they invested in and decide their next moves. To use the smartfolio, investors simply need to interact with the bot and enter details of their investments, this includes the assets and the amount they hold.

Smartfolio can also track assets in a provided wallet, an investor simply needs to provide the wallet details. Smartfolio connects to the wallet to obtain information on assets being held on supported blockchain networks. Smartfolio currently supports over 10 blockchain networks, this could improve with time as well.

    On-chain analysis with clear-cut technology

DexCheck has developed wallet trackers, Dex trade analytics application, top traders’ trackers, and whale trackers as well. These applications are designed to obtain information from the blockchain and present pre-analyzed data to investors in a way that allows them draw conclusions easily and accurately. On-chain analysis can reveal information for investors, but most investors either use them inappropriately or below their maximum capacity. DexCheck’s on-chain analysis tools guide investors towards making the best out of on-chain data.

    AI-engineered investment insight application

InsightGPT is another utility application on the DexCheck ecosystem. InsightGPT used artificial intelligence to analyze trades on decentralized exchanges. It obtains trading data and evaluates them to detect high-profile trades. These trades are usually from traders with high positive PnL and assets traded between wallets with running records of profitable trades. DexCheck informs investors of such trades and allows them to decide their next moves. These insights are actionable, they are ‘useful’ to investors.

Passive income opportunities and investor empowerment

For investors who hold DCK – the native token of the DexCheck ecosystem. DexCheck offers numerous ways to benefit from investing in the project. DexCheck’s revenue-sharing program allows investors who hold DCK to benefit from the fees generated on the platform. Holders also have access to pro trader applications and can also benefit from staking programs on-chain and on centralized exchanges.

    Closing Thoughts

What’s your approach to trading? Traders seek profits in different ways and different levels of success have been recorded for each approach. But if you seek to pursue investment success through well-researched investments and by augmenting this research with efficient tools, then you might want to give DexCheck a try. The smartfolio and InsightGPT have seen a higher user headcount, but other analytics tools in the ecosystem are also thriving. We have reviewed these applications and how they work, investors can also seek better ways to put them to use.

Having said this, it is important to note that this article only educates users on applications in DexCheck’s ecosystem and is not financial advice.

  • Snack Talk: The Gobsmack!

    Snack Talk: The Gobsmack!

    snack talk 2.jpg

Hey guys! Yeah…’guys’ does really sound chauvinistic but I’m sure everyone understands. Anyways, shitposting isn’t really my thing and this ‘Snack talk’ thing is a literal shitpost. Like two beer lovers discussing their favorite brand, a better example is two memecoin investors discussing the ‘utility’ of their cat-themed memecoins. Cat-themed memecoins don’t really do so well, relative to the doggy ones, but I get it…we all do.

Alright, I named this one ‘The Gobsmacked’ and I must say I’m gobsmacked by a lot of things. First, uptober doesn’t seem to be turning out great and the charts are looking like it’s Halloween already. Someone played MJ’s thriller on the bus today. Noisy, but that’s exactly what the whole market sounds like. I could go on with the second but if the charts continue this way then Christmas might be in jeopardy. But it doesn’t matter, we are here for the technology anyway. I said ‘we’ like we are not all waiting for the next earndrop so we can ‘cash out’.

Speaking about earndrops, I did claim a few $TIA from the Celestia airdrop. You can check your eligibility here too. Celestia is working on a couple of things that could become useful for the whole space. A bit excited to hold a (little) stake. Anyway, that’s it with the brief commercial.

JP Morgan just launched a tokenized collateral network, that should come second on my list but, then, these guys have been all around crypto and always trying to come in in their own way. Not sure this is the best way to make a dive into the space, but maybe I’m overreacting to an asset-creation platform.

By the way, if you’ve been following the court hearing for SBF and the FTX guys, you should be astonished…’ gobsmack’ is the word of the day. I forgot. Couple of impressive incomes in those lists from Caroline. Not sure which is more lucrative, Sports, Music, or running a crypto-trading platform. If every exchange operator earns that much, then the latter wins, hand-off. If you haven’t been paying attention, this is the second one on my list.

The third one? This snack of course! I wouldn’t be here after 70 days to write another snack-time talk story if I didn’t find a befitting snack. No need to dwell on that, I came across the whitepaper for BitVM. The Bitcoin blockchain could run smart contracts in the near future. Safe to say that even Bitcoin now copies Ethereum. No jokes on the team working on this impressive development, just saying that Bitcoin has spent a majority of its lifetime being compared to Gold. If it finally turns into another virtual machine, then it will spend another decade being compared to Solana, Taraxa, and Polygon, I left out Fantom…another cool EVM network! But technology is about finding out, sorry, that’s science. Never mind, I own up to that statement.

Deploying memecoins on the Bitcoin network would have been historic, but BRC-20 tokens already did that and suddenly no one talks about them. Not sure why they faded so quickly. Big guess, The Bitcoin blockchain was built to support P2P BITCOIN transfers and not inscriptions. Ethereum and all of its offspring were built for this. And if you think Bitcoin running smart contracts will kill off other smart contract blockchains, just remember the same was said about BRC-20. Too early to call it, but this is where we are headed.

I would have loved to put a word out for everyone getting a 10% refund on their failed NFT investments but I never got a refund from the handful of rug-pulls myself and other memecoin investors had to go through. So, if Logan Paul finally sends your 10% Cryptozoo investment back to you, then you should consider buying a good snack and some Sprite. Project literally sound like a straight scam, but that’s how most rugpulls sound. Cool name projects pull the rug equally, don’t judge a book by its cover, this doesn’t apply to your Algebra textbooks though.

Time to drop the keyboard, just took the last bite and it is not certain when the next snack talk stuff will drop. Judging from the current trend, Q1 2024 is very likely. Maybe Bitcoin will be back above $30K then. If the ETFs finally land, then sure, we can be positive. Yeah, that’s it …guys.

  • Snack Talk: The jump-off

    Snack Talk: The jump-off

    snack talk 2.jpg

Alright, I just got a sack full of snacks, it’s been a long day! The neighbour, just a block away is blasting some hip-hop music. Since this is crypto-related content, you’d guess the artist would be Soulja Boy or Lil Yachty; but coincidences aren’t as usual as we’ve made them be. Talking about those guys, we might see them return to the crypto space when the next memecoin season dawns on us. Soulja Boy led the marketing for the LimeWire token. Unfortunately, it couldn’t do a quick and temporary 10X before it crashed into obscurity. That $30 million ICO fundraiser will be enough to pay off Soulja and Bahd Barbie; since the latter is aboard the ‘content creation’ project as well. Well, time to move on, condolences to the ICO participants turned into bagholders.

Back to my neighbour’s music, it’s a 2009 Kanye, Jay Z, and Rihanna classic. A rich song…literally. But the inspiration for this article didn’t even come from there. Actually, there was no inspiration for this article. I just needed to slow down the half-life of this snack by talking crypto and web3 along the line. This is the first ever ‘snack talk’ (from me), new editions will be made anytime I stumble on a good snack. Good snacks aren’t so common in this area of the world, so, be rest assured that the next edition of this terrible series (might) take time.

Going ahead, UNIBOT is doing some face-melting on the charts, but that isn’t the main thing you should be worried about. There is a new Bitcoin in town, not the Satoshi one, the Obama one. Funny enough, Mr.44 wasn’t even a fan of crypto. He might have taken a few Bitcoin from that silk road seize, but that’s not enough to put his name in a top 300 crypto asset. Mr.45 was a more crypto person than his predecessor. He even runs a whole NFT project. Really significant, for the fact that he did bash Bitcoin. If Americans vote for another Democrat that isn’t Joe, then we might see a real Bitcoin fanboy in the Whitehouse. Heard he got two bitcoins each for his 7 kids. I’d give the best gifts to my kids too. W dad!

Hollywood is jumping between worlds. From the black-and-white world with Oppenheimer and then to the Pink world with Barbie. I’ll most likely pick a Chris Nolan movie, but this isn’t a recommendation. And this isn’t even any of our business, well, until Oppenheimer Memecoins start trooping in. Before then, we can only enjoy the current calm.

    movie memecoins.jpg

But it’s never calm in the crypto space. Just in case you live under a rock, FTX exchange is trying to make a comeback. If you dipped some cash into the troubled coin, you may have seen some pumps a few weeks ago. I’m sure you weren’t expecting that as the main gist from a guy with a sack of snacks. The news is, Sam is getting sued. I whispered those words, don’t shout! We can all pretend to be surprised when we hear that from a friend at work. Talking about friends at work, you should be planning a memecoin launch with your friends, you could just create the next Pepe.

Not sure if you are expecting another full paragraph, it’s just a snack-time talk. I just took the last bite. Last bites are like breakups. They leave a taste until your next meal. If you bought UNIBOT about a month ago, your next meal should be a steak, else, just have a burger and pray for a green candle. Been a good time, this is the Jump-off; title of the next edition will be inspired by the name of the snack. You don’t want to miss it, so just follow, even if it’s just for the sake of following. Yeah, that’s it for now…this Soda tastes bad…

  • Are cryptocurrency ETFs enough to start a Bullrun?

Are cryptocurrency ETFs enough to start a Bullrun?

    cryptocurrency EFTs

Well, I’m yet to put up a poll, but it’s almost certain that a majority of ‘cryptocurrency enthusiasts’ are yet to understand what cryptocurrency ETFs are. Not sure most care anyways. As long as it keeps the market green, we’re fine…I’m fine too. Pun intended.

Exchange Traded Funds are like pooled funds by users of financial institutions, Like mutual funds. But since we agreed to keep this simple, I’ll skip the details and simply attach a link where you can read up on this. Again, this whole article is limited to 500 words. Subsequent ones will grow in length if Bitcoin blows past $30,000

Bitcoin ETFs, Ethereum ETFs, and maybe one for the handful of memcoins flying around. My wild guess is a DogeCoin ETF; if that fails, a PEPE ETF is my backup guess. Elon is cracking down on Twitter bots ‘powered’ by memecoins, so I will stay away from that space.

Binance’s tussle with regulatory bodies around the world was expected. I must say that the firm is handling it considerably well so far. At least relative to FTX, funds are still SAFU. The market slumped on the news, not surprising when the biggest exchange is getting served by the SEC. Mr. Gensler hasn’t been easy on this space!

But we have the ETF news to thank for keeping everyone in the market. Not a big deal, to be honest. Bitcoin traded below $17,000 this year, and the investors’ spirits weren’t damped. Oh well, it actually was, just not totally annihilated. I’d take an exception for the bears who shorted everything they could lay their hands on during this time.

Bitcoin has tumbled almost twice since this time; altcoins are still left in the dust. The market appears to be jostling towards the green lines. The ETFs are a huge factor, but is this enough to take us back to the late 2020 and early 2021 days? You have your personal opinion, and it will be cool to put them in the comments.

I’ve come across a number of Tweets analyzing how ETFs will push Bitcoin to $300,000. If that materializes, then we are 10X away from the future. Bitcoin will have to behave like a real memecoin for the first time since Peter Schiff accused it of being a memecoin. And that’s fine for me. Even Peter is inscribing and selling Bitcoin ordinals now; I guess that’s a good step to becoming a moonboy. Turns out Gold doesn’t have ordinals.

For the most serious part of this article, I’d like to opine that ETFs aren’t enough to launch us into another Bullrun, at least not before the next halving. While a Bullrun before the next halving will be very much desired, the current sell pressure on cryptocurrencies is something these analyses haven’t considered yet. And mathematics doesn’t always work in the real world. $30,000 for a bitcoin in the middle of a global financial turmoil is already a big statement, and the bears can rear their ugly heads.

But there is still a long distance to the next $5,000 pump on Bitcoin. The market is in a pullback at the time I wrote this sentence. Might change by the time I push this article to my blogs. But for now, we can expect thins to dangle between $29,000 and $32,000 for a while. Even with every institution launching an ETF for the two biggest cryptocurrencies.

Again, we blew past 500 words! You guys owe me now!

  • How to DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) like a pro.

How to DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) like a pro.

    dollar cost averaging

You’ve been told to keep throwing in more money on your crashing asset to reduce the average purchase price. Saylor bought over 20k bitcoins at an average price of about $34,000. Considering the difference between the highest and lowest prices he bought them; that’s a long journey and a whole lot of Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA).

    Dollar Cost Averaging?

What does that even mean? Well, if you have the habit of buying more of a particular asset even as its price keeps falling down the cliff, then you’re Dollae Cost Averaging, without even knowing the general term for what you are doing. A majority of cryptocurrency investors do this a lot, myself too. A pure show of belief and dedication…or just greed.

Even your favorite Twitter influencer told you at least once to “fill your bags at these prices”. Even as the price goes lower, you still fill ‘those bags’. Dollar Cost Averaging and hoping for better days. Sometimes they come, other times…well, bagholding is also part of the game. If you are an active DeFi participant or a meme token connoisseur, you probably have tons of tokens you might never sell again. You kept buying down the molehill and now there is no way back up the dark pits. It happens.

The advice to keep buying the dip and HODLing is a popular one, but there’s something you’re not being told…yet.

In a space filled with thousands of projects claiming superiority, it is easy to lure investors with well-crafted promotional pieces. Everything runs down to why you should invest and continue doing that even when it all looks dark, or at least hold on to your investments and not exit the market even when you’re in gains. Influencers use bold words and appear more experienced than the larger majority; sometimes they really are. Other times, they are simply putting out their personal opinions and perceptions. This space still remains the most unpredictable investment option.

The main factors guiding your choices should be your personal convictions through detailed research and experience. External suggestions are only resources to help your research process and shouldn’t form the main basis for your decision.

That being said, Dollar Cost Averaging is a brilliant move…when done right. Getting it right isn’t a mathematical issue too. But consider these…

Before buying more of a crashing asset, questioning the reasons for the loss in value might be important to your decision. Getting greedy when others are fearful is unarguably a good move, but sometimes this could also backfire; in reality, this move is always risky. Taking time to make certain considerations before ‘getting greedy’ increases your chances of averting some disasters. Price may dip badly in cases of irregular acts by the team behind the project you are invested in, this always drives the price nuts and could possibly dip to its last point.

If a crash isn’t due to some extreme reason which affects only the project then there are chances of making a recovery. Pulling a recovery depends on two factors; the project making the right moves and the market reacting positively to its move. Recovery cannot happen without these two factors being met satisfactorily.

Taking a good at the team behind the project and their reaction to the dip is surely an important move to make. How the team is reacting to the drop in the value of their project and how they hope to get out of the ditch. In a situation where the team is already ‘exit scammed’ then this might not be possible. ”Almost impossible” is a better way to put it. Well, ‘impossibility’ is an illusion in space. But if a project team is gone for real, recovery is far-fetched.

Alright, there are chances for recovery; but to what extent? Certainly, if a project is determined to keep working harder after a huge price drop, it is poised to pull back some losses, sometimes the pullback is not relative to the drop. For a project which experienced a 70% price drop, making a 70% gain from their current position still keeps them below their former top level. This indicates the extent to which a project needs to go before a complete recovery. Well, sometimes it is easier to go up from the bottom.

While DCA is plausible and you’ve been advised to invest what you can lose; considering some or all of these also goes a long way to reducing your potential losses…at least.

  • Stay safe; use a Dex.

    Stay safe; use a Dex.

No pun intended; I’m not poking fun at the popular COVID-19 prevention slogan. But if that’s what will make you refrain from centralized exchanges for a while, then I’ll happily do so. My frequency of using centralized exchanges has decreased over twice times the initial. If we can get rid of fake volumes, centralized exchanges are probably rubbing shoulders with decentralized exchanges; in terms of volume, user base, and application.

Despite years of efforts and modifications, fake volumes have continued to bite down on the reputation of centralized exchanges. Aided by exchange officials or solitarily, cryptocurrency projects could easily fake buy and sell orders to lure investors who are attracted by high volumes as proof of demand and liquidity. This could happen anywhere though, but it is more prevalent in centralized exchanges. Centralized exchanges and their technology have served for the time they dominated the space. No doubt, they flourished due to the incredibly handy services they offered. In essence, these services were the best available.

Hacking centralized exchanges is unarguably the most profitable for cryptocurrency scammers. The incidence of exchange hacks lead to the loss of huge amounts of funds. Mt. Gox, Bitfinex, Binance, Kucoin…the list is actually inexhaustive. Getting access to hot wallets of custodial exchanges is a jackpot for hackers who are in a constant attempt to break their way through.

Funds on centralized exchanges are in fact not owned by the ‘owners’. ‘Not your keys, not your coins’. Regardless of how ‘SAFU’ the exchange promises you about the safety of your assets, your cold wallet which you (and only you) hold its private key is the safest place to store your cryptocurrencies. Blockchain technology assures fund security, but this is only when they are truly in your custody, and this is as long as you’re the (only) one with the knowledge of your wallet’s passcodes and private keys.

    So, here’s a simple fix; decentralized exchanges…

Unlike the rampant centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges do not have buy walls and sell walls, yet the exchange of assets is unrestricted. Even a cryptocurrency veteran would wonder how this works exactly. Well, decentralized exchanges are powered by a number of protocols that allow users to swap assets seamlessly without third-party holding custody of their assets before, during, and after the swap.

Decentralized exchanges are powered by Automated Market Maker (AMM) protocols which leverage liquidity pools to ensure a seamless exchange of assets while retaining blockchain-level security.

    Source

Automated Market Markers are programmed to be highly organic and responsive. Like a real-time trading system, every bit of supply and demand creates a relative effect. Traders and investors are handed efficient tools for making decisions and projects are represented for what they truly are…at least for that point in time.

Thanks to liquidity pools, AMMs provide a basket of exchangeable assets to enable unrestricted trading for the period in which the liquidity providers wish to leave their assets on the pool. The transparency of the liquidity pool allows traders to make their decisions.

AMM protocol ensures that every buy and sell effect reflects relatively on the asset price. AMMs are not completely resistant to manipulations, this is evident in the rampant rug pulls. But on the brighter side, these actions are transparent; an important feature of blockchain technology.

Albeit certain shortcomings too; here’s how decentralized exchanges keep you safe(r).

    Custody of assets

Decentralized exchanges provide ‘blockchain-level’ security by allowing users to exchange their assets without having to give up their private keys. Private keys give everyone complete control over their individual cold wallets. The security of assets in these wallets is only compromised when the wallet owner gives away their private keys. The recipient of this private key assumes ownership of the concerned wallet and assets therein. In centralized exchanges, asset owners are not in possession of their wallets’ private keys; these keys are rather held by the exchange and are in complete control of the assets in their possession.

In cases of exchange scams, or accidental demise of the holder(s) of this key, assets held in these exchanges are completely lost and there are little or no chances of the holders reclaiming their lost funds. This won’t be the case in a proper decentralized exchange as wallets and asset ownership are not compromised in any way, holders retain private keys to their individual wallets and simply connects to the exchange and enable their assets for trading.

    Programmed and time-based permissions

Decentralized exchanges require certain permissions to interact with your wallet sufficiently to allow asset swaps, but these permissions are essentially approved by you and last as long as the particular swap is executed. Once a swap is completed, the permission is retrieved. The protocol will need to make another request before regaining this access to execute another transaction. This ensures that you retain control of your assets at any time you’re not interacting with the platform.

In-wallet assets’ resistance to exchange exploitation

Decentralized exchanges run into hazards too. Countless technical exploitation has been reported on certain decentralized exchanges and defi platforms. This is more rampant with DEXes offering other specialized services powered by novel protocols. Flash loan services have been subjects of exploitation and a large number of assets have been lost in the process. However, this doesn’t affect assets in wallets even if the wallets have interacted with the platform. Fraudulent smart contract codes can avail hackers of a sustained connection to personal wallets, but this is a special case. Assets safely stored on wallets are safe, even if the DEX runs into hazards.

In addition to preserving your identity and allowing you to swap assets from the comfort of your (personal) wallets, decentralized exchanges are evolving to keep your assets as safe as possible while you perform core exchange activities. Stay safe; use a DEX

  • Bitcoin can still trade above $100,000 in 2022

Bitcoin can still trade above $100,000 in 2022

Bitcoin topped $68,000 last year, and if you lived through that moment, you’d be left in awe of what the space has become since this time. Even more awesome is the state of things by the time you get to read this article. But that’s if you didn’t jump to the first paragraph to get to the point where I listed reasons why bitcoin will climb to $150,000 in the next 50 days.

Here’s a spoiler, that part doesn’t exist. You could still find a few hopium laying around the corners of crypto Twitter. The crypto space is adding to the relevance of Elon Musk’s new playground.
At least, he could have some money to run the ship before the verified users start paying up their $8. Well, this is unrelated but the rocket man recently checked into a Twitter space just to say ‘Doge to the moon’!

Even if you don’t love Twitter, you’ll love Mr. Musk. An absolute gentleman! Don’t read that twice.

Away from Twitter and away from the charts, cryptocurrency has taken a bad hit this year, the worse it ever did. Trashed reputation, air-proofed strength. It once looked like a very strong space. If we’re considering percentage losses, it’s still doing better than the 2017 crash, but that’s not a story to tell to anyone who bought the top. Heard Nayib Bukele’s bitcoins were stored on FTX. That turned out to be a joke, but what a story it would have been.

Tesla did test bitcoin’s liquidity and couldn’t move the market with billions of dollars in bitcoin sold. That used to be impressive, guess not anymore, we could drop to zero if anyone tries something similar right now.

If there’s any advice that almost went completely wrong in crypto, it’s the one that encouraged you to invest in ‘blue chips’ turns out that are blue rugs. But that’s fine, at least we still have NFTs to keep us going. Brilliant FTX investors did demonstrate the best use case for NFT — money laundering. Probably the single-use case that has steered the values in the way we have seen.

Next in line for capitulation? I guess not, that Ronaldo and Binance NFT partnership finally happened. The greatest footballer that ever lived will be dishing out some rare art and footage with the popular exchange. With other exchanges falling apart and Binance standing strong for now, NFTs might just pick steam again, NFA.

But then, what else could go wrong? Bored Apes announces that their monkey pictures are truly valueless and floor prices crash to two decimal point ETH while bitcoin drops below $10, 000. That’s just one zero short of the $100,000 mark. That’s an awful take, even in the words of a crypto Rockstar.

But the drums are still sounding. Thanksgiving is almost here, but things are still looking scary. Halloween got extended. Time to give up on your dreams and face reality. If you bought bitcoin anywhere near the 2021 top, you’re certainly ending the year at a loss. But one bitcoin always equals one bitcoin. A faulty arithmetic, but still works for people who have developed a Micro strategy for cryptocurrency investment.

Anyways, it’s the last quarter of the year and crazy things happen. Shiba Inu at $1 is on the cards as well.
